Age Concern Gillingham has had its presence in the Medway area since 1974, when the charity was first established by a group of volunteers. Over many years, the charity operated a shop in Gillingham and provided the core services which helped to create a larger charity partner, operating under separate branding.
Following the closure of that charity, Age Concern Gillingham has re-emerged as an independent charity, restarting many of the well-known and highly valued services needed across the area. In April 2026, we proudly took on the running of The Clarendon Royal Community in Gravesend, a much-loved local landmark that has been at the heart of the community since 1843. This marks a new chapter, with the same commitment to the people who matter most.
